Unfortunately we do need rules.  Following are a few rules which are designed to make the Forum more appealing to members and prospective new members.   Also when the 'bots' pick up posts to put in the search engine they will hopefully make some kind of sense and it won't look like the 'inmates are running the asylum'.  This Forum was created with the idea that this would be a nice place for nice people to interact and exchange thoughts and ideas about the Presidential Election of 2008.  It is a Diary of the Election and it would be appreciated by the creator of this Forum if a few simple rules were followed.

1.  Please do try to stay on topic in a topic of thread.  When you go off topic it is disrespectful to those who started the topic and it can cause others to lose interest in what may be a very good topic.

2.  When creating a new Topic, please check first to see if your topic already exists and post your thoughts there.  Duplicate topics create confusion and loss of important subject matter.

3.  Idle chit chat on a topic will not be permitted.  The Coffee Shop and The Lounge were created for this purpose.

4.  When posting idle chit chat please remember that the boards were not specifically created for this, so try to keep it at a minimum and try to use the chatbox instead.  That is what it was created for!

5.  Please do not post scrolling marquee banners.  These cause slow loading for members who have dial-up and are not encouraged by the administrator of this forum.  Small and appropriate scrolling 'signatures' are permitted but subject to approval by the Administrator.

6.  Personal attacks on another member is forbidden.  Please report any personal attacks so that the appropriate action may be taken.

7.  Hijacking of threads and persistent breaking of the rules will result in membership removal and ban from future registration.

8.  Redundant and 'inane' posts will be removed without notification at the discretion of the Administrator. Please try to keep your posts sensible so that others can understand them and relate to them.

9.  This Forum is not a "Wall for Graffiti" !  Please remember this when posting! This is an Election 2008 Forum and let's try to make it a good one!

10. Trolls will be removed immediately and banned from the Forum.

11. Flaming will not be tolerated in this Forum.  Flaming is the deliberate harassment of one member by another.  Members who persist in this behavior will be removed and banned from posting.

12. Posts that do not adhere to the rules posted above will be deleted by the Administrator without notice.

13. Please be considerate to other members.  That should say it all!  These rules are non-negotiable.

Thank you for your cooperation.  I had hoped it would not be necessary to have to post these rules but it has been brought to my attention these things are important to the membership.  They are pretty simple rules and no one should have any trouble understanding or following them.  If you have questions, please PM the Administrator.  Please be considerate and do not ask about them on the boards.

This Forum reserves the right to delete or remove any post which violates the rules stated above.

~ The Administrator
