i need to vent and i've no place to do it that won't offend people that i like, i'm sorry to do it here, but it seemed like a place for it.  and for the record, i'm a woman.

k, here's the link:

http://www.womensmediacenter.com/sexism_sells.html

if you like it, great, sign it i don't care but i gotta vent and now.

i'm still ticked at these claims of sexism that came from hillary's campaign, and now this women's group with media matters, putting together a video and petition, crying sexism is everywhere in the media.  the media isn't being sexist, it's being incredible juvenile, and it's been this way since fox news started doing it and somehow got ratings, now everyone's copying it.

i mean, these vids, they take stuff out of context, they can make anyone sound bad.  i still remember when edwards made a critique of hillary, after that disastrous debate where she flip flopped so much, and all these women started crying sexism. boo hoo hoo, the men are ganging up on the women, that's sexist...well, golly gee, being ganged up on by a bunch of men (no puns), isn't that what being president is all about?  dealing with a bunch of lying men, trying to take your authority down?  those men in congress, the leaders of those freaky counties like iran and north korea...they all lying, right to your face, come on!

why is the media covering hillary's make up or her cleavage?  cuz they are **** bastards.  no, seriously, they are probably just not getting laid enough.  why do you think o'really said all that stuff to his co-worker?  all that anger he's got, it's misplaced energy cuz he really just needs to be laid.  these other media guys are the same.  and you know you need to go and get some when you are looking at hillary clinton's breasts.  for ****'s sake, someone get chris matthews a bj, he really must need one.

i mean, can we not talk about hillary's hair?  yes, women get a ton of extra notice if one hair is outta place, but that's cuz we look so damn good!  i mean, who cares about men's hair, they ugly most of the time and there ain't nothing they can do for it.  the exception being john edwards, and damn, you know if his hair went all funny, or if he lost his looks, that would be the end of his political career.  i mean, let's face it, if kucinich were that hot, he'd be doing better in these campaigns.  looks matter, it's sad but true.  should the media be covering it like it's important?  probably not as often as they do, but you know,  only other topic up for discussion is the fate of the future of the country, and who wants to talk about that?

we can't talk about hillary's clothes either?  again, does the media need to be obsessed with it?  naw, but really, if edwards had worn something cool and hip and shown a little more chest hair, the media would be screaming he's gay faster than bush can utter stay the course.  you can't win, can you?

i'm tired of people demanding that i bow down and scream sexism against anyone who doesn't just worship the old feminist cause or their favorite female politician.   i was sick and tired too of obama's camp complaining about people being racist every 5 seconds, and i'm kinda glad now it's over with.

and while i'm at it, i'm also sick and tired of people "unabashedly" being pro-choice or pro-life, when they state the same freaking reasons about what they want to see get better for women in this country, and then scream their heads off at me if i disagree.  i don't know why we are divided politically when we are asking for much of the same stuff most of the time.  the only people who benefit are the politicians, who know that the women of this country will never really get anything for themselves so long as we are divided by the rhetorical politics created and maintained by a bunch of men.

i've more to vent, but i've got to let it go for now, i'm still sick and need to rest, i should be asleep.  feel free to say what you like, be mean if you want, i don't care, i'm obviously not able to be clear enough to folks without offending them somehow too.  maybe i need to be more clear about things.  time for more of that robetussin with codine.

I like her hairstyle now better than all her other ones.  I prefer her in pink rather than brown!  Grin

I agree the cries of sexism and racism this season has been so frequent and devoid of a realistic base that it has trivialized real sexism and racism and confuses what those terms really mean.

However, a recent I think it was cbs poll showed many more people were willing to vote for an AA than a woman. And we all know both exist.

Hey Kenshin!!!! I'm so glad you felt you could 'vent' here!  LOL  This IS the place to vent if you want.  Smiley

Thanks too for posting this here.  I know just how you feel, not as one who feels she has ever been sexually discriminated against personally, but as one who has witnessed it in this country and it's gone on long enough!  I will say this however, in that video when it talked about the beginning of sexism starting out with the birth of a baby girl I couldn't help but remember, as the mother of two daughters, when my second was born and her father couldn't conceal his disappointment that it wasn't a boy.  But then I don't think that really had anything to do with sexism.  Just that he wanted one of each.  A boy and a girl.  But then.....looking back I recall he was disappointed the first time too.  It's a good thing I wasn't one of Henry the VIII's wives.  I would have been beheaded! LOL

Now there's some very strong sexism! LOL

Actually I think McCain is a sexist!  And I don't think Obama is at all!  I think he has great respect for women and a lot of it is how he was raised.

But back to your complaint about sexism as a whole in this country and the media's childish behaviour in covering the Clinton campaign.  it was highly inappropriate and completely unnecessary.  And it's really sad.  I gotta say here that I was really impressed, however, with how great Clinton always looked.  Every day she looked like she had a good night's sleep the night before and you know she was operating on what...maybe 3 hours a night?  Like I told Roadon .... to quote Ginger Rogers about Fred Astaire.  "I did everything he did and in 5 inch high heels."  That's kind of the way I saw the Obama/Clinton campaigns.  Guys don't (most guys) have to worry about their make-up and hair that much.  Well...unless you're John Edwards! LOL  kidddinnngggg! hahahaha

I needed to vent myself last night but was going to wait till this morning to do it because one of my old friends from the 2000 election sent me an e-mail in which she said she thought "the chances of Obama being shot were pretty good".  It just went all over me and basically ruined my night.  She is a racist!  A flat out racist who dosen't mind admitting it.  This bothers me soooo much!  And she is a Clinton supporter who now says she is just not going to vote at all.  She asked me why I liked Obama and then followed it up with..."I'm interested in your opinion....not that it will change my mind."

Well....guess what!  My opinion is that ......well I can't even say it here yet this morning!  I'm still too upset.  I shot her off an email about the reference to Obama being shot and how I felt about that.  It is one of my greatest fears and for her to word it the way she did was very disturbing to me.  She also had to tell me she knows a lot of other folks who feel the same way.

Yeah Kenshin!  The woman thing and the black thing weigh heavily on my mind!  Roadon and I were discussing this very thing this morning out on the balcony.  Neither of us went to church growing up.  Not on a regular basis, that is. We have come to the conclusion that because of that we were spared a lot of the discrimination that is taught in church.  You know religion has been highly discriminatory against women for centuries.  And the racism in churches has run rampant too.

I thought the video was pretty pathetic when the one female Senator (can't recall her name now) spoke about how she was always asked to "get the coffee".

I never liked the term "Hillary Rodham Nutcracker".  I don't know where it came from and when Tucker said he "involuntarily crossed his legs" whenever she came around I knew why his show was cancelled.  To say this is totally unacceptable and inappropriate is just a gross understatement.

But in all honesty there are differences in women and men and I think those differences are wonderful!

Viva le difference!!!!

LOL

(But nooooo discrimination!!!)

Thanks Kenshin!  I hope you feel better.  I signed the Petition!

Nice to see your name on the member list!  I hope you'll post often as I have always enjoyed your 'musings' and opinion!!!

PS........If this is too rambling and doesn't make a lot of sense it's cause I'm still on my first cup of coffee. LOL  Going down for my second now!   Grin

Hi Kenshin------------------Vent on.  Do you think Bill O'Reilly ever has "adult intimate relations".  Lou Dobbs?Huh?

You may have hit on a major problem with the Media.  Tom Brokaw, Walter Cronkite, Charlie Rose.  They have healthy Adult Intimate Lives.

The Rest do not.  Do you know it's one of THE SIX major neurotransmitters that must be fed.  It is seriously.

I read that in a Stanford Portable called the "Final Frontier" by Philip Reinlander.

They have not been feeding that neurotransmitter and thus the juvenile newscasting.  We shall call them "the unfed neuros of '08".    In the future they should only hire people after calling their Husbands or Wives and checking up on this.  Yes, I'm Serious.

Sure I do however have the feeling that O'Reilly and Dobbs are going into '09 '10 and thereafter as "sexually unfed".

It's that important.  Stanford Portables are fabulous.

It's like going on air without eating for a month.  That's another neurotransmitter that must be fed.  Sleep is important also.  Curiosity........I won't go on.

It's of great import that those reporting on a Woman were not having "adult intimate relations" thus they may have hated "those" that did not feed them.  A Freudian slip.

DESTINY:  Dark Blue.   I also feel that she has utilized Estee Lauder "Resilience Mask" and Night Repair.

What?Huh?Huh?  I'm just being observant.

I also feel that no 20 year old Woman could have done what she did as to energy.  Her speech was one of the I've heard.  There is no school for the Class she showed.  That's innate.

We've come a long way baby.....but we're still women!

LOL

(The only thing we disagree on is this Kenshin....I think Edwards will still be sexy when he's bald! Grin

Hey Kenshin!  I forgot to tell you I hope you feel better real soon!

I know all about that Robitussin! The last time I was sick enough to have to take it I had the flu (several years ago) and it put me to bed for about two weeks it was so severe.

I took so much Robitussin that I couldn't even drink White Zin for about six months afterwards.  Whenever I tried it all I could taste was what the cough medicine tasted like.

Do you think they put White Zin in Robitussin?  LOL

Feel better!

Lou Dobbs and Bill O'Reilly.........Do you have a link, NAH I don't want to see it.

Kenshin, your sick???  That's horrid.  Eat, sleep, take your vitamins and remember what I said from the Stanford Portables.

It's that important.

Nyquil, cashiering or supervising at a store, and where the minority of people can drive you insane for going out of your way and push and push and push, Nyquil was the poor persons pain reliever. It is amazing how you can be abivious to the world and have drawer come out right.

I wonder if she was treated differently because of her sex or becasue of her stances? MSNBC loved Obama had his ads right on top of their website. How is that for ethical behavior?

I think Nyquil may just be wine but blue.  I tried it once and it put me to sleep in 2 minutes.

As to sexism in this race it's been exceedlingly obvious and pithy.  The lies bold.  Racism obvious and pity and bold.  I really hope that these are people who do not really vote.

As to the CBS polls and this is where things get tricky.  I really feel that most that take these polls don't vote.  They are too busy taking polls.

It's akin to the major networks "reporting news".  Where would they find the time???  They are too busy creating news.

However, considering the status of most blogs (lie factorys for sure), your observations are greatly needed KENSHIN.  It's about time someone vent on these issues.

KENSHIN you need to vent more.  Your vents are honest and real and come from astute observations instead of Bill O'Reilly or the other nutcases.

Rock on KENSHIN.

Why did you do this here.  Could you not speak the truth to those on JRE (never wanted to be president and has a daughter in college that finds mention of him embarrassing) what is Pat and Lee's problem.  Have they gone rogue.

I expected better then this from you.

You posted but did not find yourself "equal enough' to jre to respond.  WEAK
