http://current.com/items/88958881_arrest_karl_roveArrest Karl RoveMore than seven years too late, it appears as if a growing number of congresspersons are realizing that they are part of a co-equal branch of government. After allowing their institution to be disrespected and at times ignored by the executive branch, top officials in Congress are finally expressing a willingness to use their full power under the Constitution to rein in an out-of-control administration. The current target: Karl Rove. Rove has been asked by the House Judiciary Committee to testify about his involvement in the Justice Department’s prosecution and imprisonment of former Alabama Governor Don Siegleman. As Rove has so far refused to testify voluntarily, members of Congress have started sending signals that they are prepared to go to the mattresses over this. Yesterday, Rep. Robert Wexler sent out a strongly worded E-mail advocating the use of “inherent contempt” against Rove, which would allow the House Sergeant-of-Arms to forcibly bring Rove to the House to testify. Also yesterday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers alluded to the use of inherent contempt. "We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do,” Conyers said. “We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested." It is time for all of us to let our representatives know that we support this forceful action. That is why I just sent an E-mail to my representative through the American Freedom Campaign Web site. I hope that you will join me. To do so, just use the following link to get started: http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/2165/t/1027/campai... Together, we can restore balance in our system of checks and balances. Thanks for taking action.

It doesn't appear to stand for much anymore. We should be hounding them to act on these articles of Impeachment brought before them by Kucinich! Maybe Pelosi should be removed because of her refusal to cooperate! GO SHEEHAN GOOOO!

He's above the law because all of his extremist right wing scumbag buddies have been the law for the past 7.5 years. Here's what needs to happen: Barack wins with ROOM in November so he has coattails that pull Democrats into Congress. And not just any Democrats, Democrats with grass roots experience, Democrats solidly anti Iraq war and horrified by the corruption of the past 7.5 years. Cindy Sheehan pulls off the upset, coattails help her. With this Congress in place, and either Hillary or John as the AG - start subpoeaning the hell out of all of them, get McClellan to continue testifying, bring in Joe Wilson, Valerie Plame and anyone who was on the inside to build a case against Rove, Cheney and Bush himself. Bring back the stocks - once they get convicted we put them all out in front of the Capitol, clean out our fridges and let fly . What a sight that would be, from the highest levels of power in the US Gov't to laughingstocks. I would so love the chance to personally throw rotten food at Rove.

And I think if just one of them was brought up and put on the hot seat that we would see others 'jumping ship' like the rats they are! I think Scott McClellan saw the writing on the wall and was protecting himself by writing this little tattle tale book. The fact is it's probably very lame compared to what really is the truth! In fact I KNOW it is!!! We all know it is! I mean......Scooter Libby is convicted of leaking Plame's name and Bush commutes his sentence? How much more evidence of conspiracy and corruption does Congress need? I hope we can get him out before he starts something over in Iran!

I think they are laying low on the Fitzpatrick thing right now and putting together a case. You know the story about how allegedly, Rezko's buddy called Rove who was supposed to get Fitzpatrick taken off the Rezko case. But additionally, Fitzpatrick was also allegedly one of the Ag's on the hit list when all those Ag's lost their jobs, but I think he was too high profile and connected in Chicago to be taken down.

roadon was telling me about a very interesting article he's reading now (long one) about what is really going on and how Bush was over in Italy because the Pope is telling him how he needs to do all this stuff to make things right with the Catholics cause of what he did in Iraq and also how Russert was 'natural caused' and ......it's very interesting. I'll put the link in here when I get it from him. I wouldn't doubt that Fitzgerald has to be very careful about each and every movement he makes. I saw a documentary on him and he is an amazing man apparently! Really amazing! Do you like him?
