  • I ask that you PLEASE contact Rep. Kucinich and thank him for his leadership and patriotism. Please take a moment and give him a call and show your support. You can call his DC office at this number (202)225-5871.

  • Contact Speaker Pelosi at this number and ask her for her support and action. You can call her DC office at this number 202-225-0100

  • Contact both of your Senators and your Representative and let them know you support this. You can search for all of your US elected officials by entering your zip code at www.votesmart.org.

  • You can go to democrats.com and see the news on this. You can sign a variety of petitions there.

I'm going to add the "take the back door" option that we talked about in another thread - send any amount of $ you can afford to Cindy Sheehan's campaign.

She WOULD get on board to impeach Bush, in a heartbeat.  Cool

Only if we keep dialing!

Polls as of last night say 89 percent of Americans support Impeachment!  How can they deny us?

"Hello! I am an American and I want my country back!  I support Kucinich in his Articles of Impeachment against President Bush and I will not vote for any Congressman or Senator who does not do everything within their power to see that Bush and Cheney are held accountable for their crimes against this country and this world!"

It would be unheard of for an Independent to beat the incumbent but I hope like HELL that Sheehan whips Pelosi! And one wonders how Pelosi got where she is...... Angry

I'm donating to Sheehan's campaign!

I'm glad to see that she is back up and running. A few months ago her phone stopped working and some rumors were going on the airwaves, egarding her dropping out, but she remains.

Oh and don't forget to contact Senator Obama!  Wink

He wants to be your President, and he claims to oppose the war, so I am sure he will be happy to stand with Kucinich on the impeachment issue!   Roll Eyes Grin Grin Grin  Tongue

Yeah Right, we see how that shit went down!!   Roll Eyes Grin Grin Grin  Tongue

All talk, no action!! Cuz he has to get elected! Forget the important issues!  Roll Eyes Tongue

Also Cynthia McKinney brought forth the impeacment issue as well two years ago while she was a Senator. She is also running for President under the Green Party and she stands beside Kucinich to go foreward, as does Ralph Nader, our consumer advocate and constitutionist. Cheers to them for standing up against the war and not waffling for money and votes!  Cool

Roadon just told me that Bush declared a National Emergency and evoked the Constitional right to declare Martial Law this past Thursday, June 26th.  Something to do with N. Korea and their nukes.

Why didn't we hear about this on the MSM?

I wouldn't put it past him at all!

Martial law? Where here?   Huh?

My understanding is that a State of National Emergency grants the President DICTATORIAL POWERS throughout the USA

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
June 26, 2008

Executive Order: Continuing Certain Restrictions with Respect to North Korea and North Korean Nationals

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) (NEA), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, find that the current existence and risk of the proliferation of weapons-usable fissile material on the Korean Peninsula constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, and I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat. I further find that, as we deal with that threat through multilateral diplomacy, it is necessary to continue certain restrictions with respect to North Korea that would otherwise be lifted pursuant to a forthcoming proclamation that will terminate the exercise of authorities under the Trading With the Enemy Act (50 U.S.C. App. 1 et seq.) (TWEA) with respect to North Korea.

Accordingly, I hereby order:

Section 1. Except to the extent provided in statutes or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, the following are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in:

all property and interests in property of North Korea or a North Korean national that, pursuant to the President's authorities under the TWEA, the exercise of which has been continued in accordance with section 101(b) of Public Law 95-223 (91 Stat. 1625; 50 U.S.C. App. 5(b) note), were blocked as of June 16, 2000, and remained blocked immediately prior to the date of this order.

Sec. 2. Except to the extent provided in statutes or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, United States persons may not register a vessel in North Korea, obtain authorization for a vessel to fly the North Korean flag, or own, lease, operate, or insure any vessel flagged by North Korea.

Sec. 3. (a) Any transaction by a United States person or within the United States that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, or attempts to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

(b) Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

Sec. 4. For the purposes of this order:

(a) the term "person" means an individual or entity;

(b) the term "entity" means a partnership, association, trust, joint venture, corporation, group, subgroup, or other organization; and

(c) the term "United States person" means any United States citizen, permanent resident alien, entity organized under the laws of the United States or any jurisdiction within the United States (including foreign branches), or any person in the United States.

Sec. 5. The Secretary of the Treasury, after consultation with the Secretary of State, is hereby authorized to take such actions, including the promulgation of rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this order. The Secretary of the Treasury may redelegate any of these functions to other officers and agencies of the United States Government consistent with applicable law. All agencies of the United States Government are hereby directed to take all appropriate measures within their authority to carry out the provisions of this order.

Sec. 6. The Secretary of the Treasury, after consultation with the Secretary of State, is hereby authorized to submit the recurring and final reports to the Congress on the national emergency declared in this order, consistent with section 401(c) of the NEA (50 U.S.C. 1641(c)) and section 204(c) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1703(c)).

Sec. 7. This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, instrumentalities, or entities, its officers or employees, or any other person.

GEORGE W. BUSH

THE WHITE HOUSE,

June 26, 2008.

Well for me, I am glad to see that North Korea imploded the cooling tower of their reactor, and that it is now no threat to them or the rest of the world. Also I am glad to see some sanctions lifted on the people of North Korea and talks moving forward with them in bringing a more stable Korean pennisula.

Regardless of how you see the Bush administration, this is progress in the right direction and I am glad to see the US working in unison with other countries to make it happen.

Now if we could just stop building reactors in our own country that would be really nice!  Wink

Yes....that was a good thing.  I was shocked to read what roadon posted when on the same day basically the news was showing the imploding of the cooling tower.  Strange in a way.   Huh?

It would be so nice if there were no nukes period!   Wink

I honestly think the action Bush took was standard procedure in dealing with issues of bringing down a nuclear facility in a foreign country. I think any President would have implemented the same thing. And I wouldn't be surprised if others in the European countries didn't do the same as well.

It was possible that something could have gone awry either intentional or unintentional and we could have had a nuclear fall out from it all. So honestly, I think it was just standard procedure and nothing covert this time around.

I don't cut Georgie many breaks but this time I think it was part of bringing down that nuclear facility.

But what about all those children......growing up exposed to the uranium from 'our' bombs in Iraq?

Completely and totally inexcuseable.

Not to mention ...... our Troops!
